The Lesson of the Lazy Donkey

Once upon a time, there was a donkey who was very lazy. He never wanted to do any work and spent his days sleeping and eating instead.

The Master’s Plan:

One day, the donkey’s master decided he had had enough of the lazy donkey and decided to teach him a lesson. He loaded the donkey with a heavy sack of salt and made him walk to the market, which was quite far away.

The Donkey’s Shortcut:

On the way, the donkey thought to himself, “This sack of salt is heavy, and it’s making me tired. I need to find a way to lighten my load.” So, he came up with an idea and purposely fell into a nearby stream, causing the salt to dissolve and the load to become much lighter.

The Journey Back:

When the donkey finally reached the market, the master checked the sack and realized that much of the salt had dissolved. He was very angry and decided to make the donkey carry a sack of sponges back home.

The Donkey’s Lesson:

This time, the lazy donkey was very careful and did not try to take any shortcuts. He realized that it was easier to carry a heavy load than to be punished for being lazy. From then on, the donkey was a hard worker and never again tried to take the easy way out.

Moral:

The moral of the story is that hard work pays off, and there are no shortcuts to success.
